Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid attends Royal Ascot's 4th day racing events in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed



UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the racing events of the Royal Ascot 2011 in its fourth day at the Ascot Racecourse in England.

The event was also attended by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler and Finance Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, Queen Elizabeth II of Britain and members of the British royal family.



The racing events saw Namibian, owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, storm to victory at the Queen’s Vase race holding on by a neck in a tremendous finish. Trained by Mark Johnston and ridden by Silvestre De Sousa, Namibian sent Solar Sky into second place and Eternal Heart into third.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received the winner’s trophy from the Duke of Kent.



Beachfire, owned by Princess Haya bint Al Hussein and ridden by William Buick, swooped to land the Wolferton Handicap sending Godolphin’s Lost In The Moment to second place. The Duke of Devonshire presented the awards for the Wolferton Handicap to Princess Haya bint Al Hussein.

The last day of the Royal Ascot 2011, the five-day horse racing event that is one of the highlights of England's glittering summer social season, will be on Saturday. (June 17, 2011)

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan returned to the UAE today, concluding a private visit to the Seychelles.

Sheikh Khalifa was received at Al Ain International Airport by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Issa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid meets with young national leaders in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received young national leaders at the state level at Qasr Al Bahar in Dubai today.

The meeting was held with the attendance of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid A l Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid A l Maktoum.

Sheikh Mohammed and the young leaders exchanged views on issues related to the future of the country.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed happiness about meeting with the young leaders, describing them as the pillar of development and future building.

He said that the UAE’s economy is robust and is based on solid foundations and a long-term vision, saying “That is why we, the leadership and the government, are not worried about the future of our national economy. We rely on the arms and minds of the national youth to further strengthen it."

The young leaders expressed pride in their leadership headed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for their support and for providing UAE citizens with all necessary ingredients of education and training and for providing them with decent and dignified living standards. UAE's Dubai wins New Economy's Inward Investment Awards 2011

Dubai has been named as the best country for inward investment in the Middle East by the London-based The New Economy magazine.

The Best Country for Inward Investment award, a category of the New Economy's Inward Investment Awards 2011, identifies countries that represent the benchmark of achievement and best practice in the financial and business world.

H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in a ceremony today at Qasr Al Bahar, was presented with the award by Fahad Al Gergawi, CEO of Foreign Investment Office, a body affiliated with Dubai's Department of Economic Development, on behalf of editor Jan Spiegel who heads the Awards panel .

The New Economy is published quarterly and provided to Finance Directors, Chief Financial Officers and their legal and strategic advisers, corporate treasurers and leading bankers, institutional investors and compliance officers, regulators, Ministers of Finance, Energy/Environment Ministries and their senior council.
